  • Im a big fan but this is bad, not so much from Eddie but i didnt hear one comment about keeping his hands up. Throwing A-B, not punching down and sinking your entire body, bring your jab back to protect your face and not down to your hip. Basic things you expect to hear over and over and over again until you listen, but no one is highlighting these things...

  • Love to see all these comments showing that people have no patience in somone who dosen't really have much of a background in boxing and who came from almost 200Kg bodyweight. Let's just see how people respond when he goes into his 3 months of propper sparring in a real ring. See then how "little" of a chanse he have Vs Thor xD People expect something they even couldn't do, that's the funny part.

  • Filtering what your coach says when you're perfectly able to spar is being humble! The battle before the war, crawl before you can walk... that's what they call it! My money is on Eddie after watching Thor's first match!

  • Watching the video, I found it weird how many times y'all kept repeating "this isn't [full] sparring". Like yeah, we get it. Then I saw the comments, and yeah OK apparently most of us don't get it. Also weird to see so many people saying that the coach (Lindon) doesn't know what he's talking about, so I did a bit of digging. I'm not remotely qualified to critique him one way or the other, but it does look like he gets results pretty consistently. Not sure why y'all are being so coy about his identity, but hey I'll respect that and not drop his full name here. End of the day, Lindon is following a pretty specific training schedule - he said that himself. That schedule seems to have worked pretty well for other boxers that Lindon has trained, and now we find out how well it'll work for Eddie against Thor.

  • Dude... you really need to take it easy with your sparring partner or get someone in there that knows what they are doing and is close to your weight. It's sparring, not a fight. The whole point is to hone your skills and new techniques, not to beat the piss out of the guy helping you out. You are not likely to find a sparring partner close to the same size as you and capable of enduring close to full power shots like that unless you bring in a real boxer. You know you can hit hard, maybe work on your defense, footwork and technique like keeping your damn hands up, getting on the inside, head movement etc. Smashing your sparring partner, who is obviously not capable of giving you quality work, is a dick move and really frowned upon at most respectable gyms, and for good reason.

  • Well i think as soon as you far enough, you should get some real boxer, at the best of the height of Thor and make some real sparring matches and you need a bigger sized Ring, but as you do, first come at the right fitness and technique level, then sparring some real boxers until you get used to a real fight situation. Well nice at the end your trainer said exactly what I have said xD

BUT, because this is marketing and business, i expect a nice fight, lots of money being made in the process, huge publicity and Thor not being killed in the ring. • I Like Eddie but have not been following his transition into boxing all that closely. First time a video of his has left me not only disappointed, but a little annoyed I. He has not improved one bit and is battering this guy out of ego. At times this so called sparring session seems more like an audition for a Matrix reboot. Has his hands down for five seconds, practically standing still and the other guy doesn't even swing. Don't know who you are trying to kid mate but you are going to in for a very rude awakening come fight night. Ditch the ego, your useless trainer and start getting some valuable boxing practice in!!

  • This is a genius hoax from Eddie and his team. Bravo. Thor is constantly feeding Eddie info on his current abilities and deficiencies whilst Eddie has been showing us fake videos and secretly training. His coach during the end interview was struggling to think up some bullshit to justify the ruse and that`s why he could only come up with the one explanation for their training, a vague sounding `Ring Craft.` Eddie is a tough Northern lad and was previously a doorman. He would have boxing connections through his network of friends he had from before his rise to fame and there`s no way they`d let him train with a dope. If Eddie was a public school boy, Southern softlad then it could be plausible of him getting duped by a cheeky scouser posing as some know it all boxing guru. People talk about Eddie`s ego but during strongman training he was always willing to try new methods and techniques to give him an extra boost. I just can`t genuinely imagine his training regime consisting of deadlifting and this gym stuff. I expect he has a much more complicated and intense regime with a much larger team surrounding him then we have been led to believe.

  • What a waste just to build confidence and then just imagine what this does to paddys confidence. Horrible training you should be making each other better and having fun this makes boxing look bad. All this can be done on mitts. All you should be doing is actual sparring (where the other guy hits back) , heavy bag, mitts and roadwork lots of roadwork. This is some bs attempt to give him technique and skip the tensed up nooby faze of sparring which won't work he'll forget everything as soon as he gets tagged. Plus he's going to have so many bad habits having he's hands down like that when he has no where near the experience for the movements he's attempting. Thor could go to any decent amateur trainer for a few months and drop him at this rate

  • I first saw Eddie as he crushed the elephant bar dead lift at the 2016 Arnold Strongman, and in subsequent interviews he struck me as hard working, charismatic, confident and smart. Despite the cocky and provocative attitude, he was endearing and displayed an unmatched work ethic to back up his words. For a while he was the inspirational underdog, and I audibly cheered as he deadlifted half a ton, proving to everyone he wasn't talking out of his ass. This was a dude who'd put in the work and earned the praise. Fuck yeah I'd buy his products, he earned it. In the years following he'd often hang with Brian Shaw and the gang, bantering with strongmen equal to or bigger than him. It worked because those he took the piss at could clap back. Seeing Brian Shaw and Eddie clad in kandura's while slapping the shit out of each other is only fun because they're equals. When the boxing training started, I remained invested. Clearly the macho-postering trash talk promotion was a gimmick, but watching Eddie Hall putting the same work into boxing as he did weightlifting would be fascinating. Which for a while it was. When Paddy joined he could be a cheeky twat (see the "Fighting my training partner" video), but there was also a huge power disparity. To me he looked more and more wary and apprehensive as the sparring progressed from week to week. Coupled with Eddie's constant trash talk towards Thor, what was once a confident but charming attitude became more reminiscent of a priggish bully. I stopped watching after the "I Hit My Trainer Partner Too Hard.. *COUGHED UP BLOOD!*" video, in which Paddy spent another day substituting for an actual punching bag, and came back to see if there'd been any progress. But... Whatever this is, it's neither engaging nor productive. It comes across as the self-glorified, pointless and needlessly dangerous bullying of a man who signed up for more than he bargained for. Paddy was hired for sparring, but is seemingly still little more than a human bean bag for Eddie to impose his backyard boxing on. There is nothing endearing or inspirational about this.

  • Love your dedication and enthusiasm but its very stupid to keep your hands down in these kinds of sports or in an actual fight. Its quite easy to punch you in the head and body cuz you leave a lot of openings for your opponent. You need to learn proper defense and footwork. You got power and you're building that speed but still got zero technique. You need separate weeks to learn and practice those fundamentals. You'll gas out quickly if you just keep punching. You need to step up your game if you want to beat Thor. And please hire a pro boxer for you to spar with. You'll not learn anything if your sparring partner just avoids and take any punches you throw.

I would reach out and try and get in contact with a big boxer like Bob Sapp, or Jerome Banner. You might not need to be doing full contact always, but beating up on scared people who are injured will only hurt your training, and your brand.
